چکیده
Background Data: Odontoid fractures comprise about 20 % of all cervical fractures. have been classified according to Anderson and D'Alonzo classification system. Anterior posterior approaches can manage odontoid fractures, various schools thought favor both approaches. This article highlights the versatility anterior approach treat varying types Indications for surgical management include age patient more than 55 years, displacement fracture fragment 4 mm, nonunion, disruption transverse atlantal ligament. The has 55% less trabecular bone body axis. is required callus formation healing; hence, nonunion type 2 common that 3 Purpose: To present different methods managing Study Design: A case report. Patients Methods: In report, we deployed three techniques using fixation fracture. Plate screw far effective as a non-weight-bearing structure, it compresses fragments better union. Results: cases, found good evidence radiographic healing in postoperative period with no significant immediate or delayed complications. Neck mobility was limited some extent placement transarticular screws but preserved completely other two patients. Conclusion: carry safe promising results achieving solid fusion, operative risk vital structures, preserving range motion. learning curve also shallow compared (2022ESJ262)

[Anterior osteosynthesis of odontoid fractures].
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY The conservative treatment of an odontoid fracture with immobilization in a halo-vest or collar often results in pseudoarthrosis. Therefore, surgical treatment is preferred, and the Magerl-Böhler anterior osteosynthesis of the C2 dens is one of the options for achieving good bony union. The aim of this study was to show that the success of reducing an odontoid fracture is r...

The C1-2 complex allows far more motion than any other single level in the cervical spine. This motion is predominantly rotational, since translational motion at C1C2 is limited by the strong transverse ligament. This restriction is lost after fracture of the odontoid and may be associated with anteroor retrolisthesis of the C1-C2 complex in relation to the C2 body. This may result in spinal co...
